A little get away
A few weeks ago Joe and I took a very last minute trip to Las Vegas, which happens to be one of our favorite places to go because we got engaged there. Here are some of the places that when we go to Vegas I get upset if we can't see.
#1-The Venetian-I love Italy and it has been a few years since I have been able to be there, but the venetian makes me feel like I am back there for .2 seconds. And the Phantom of the Opera is also playing there and we were able to go see that again on this trip! I don't know what it is about the music but it makes me so happy to watch that show. I really could listen to Phantom of the Opera every day for the rest of my life and be happy.

#2 The Paris- I love food, and crepes. Our friends Christy and Zack introduced us to La Creperie that is in the Paris hotel, and now we have made it one of our favorite pit stops, this picture below is all the proof you need. My mouth is watering...

#3 Fake New York, New York-
#4 The Belagio- Specifically their gardens. It was all spooked up for Halloween. These pumpkins weighed like 700 + pounds.

This last place Joe and I were so excited to see. We were watching a show on the Discovery channel about he coolest pools in the world and they showed one in Las Vegas that had an aquarium with sharks in the middle of the pool. Discovery channel claimed that you could go through their tunnel slide through the shark tank. Trust me they made it sound so cool. It was not. The shark tank wasn't even that big. If you are interested was at Golden Nugget, but I would just see our picture and claim that as enough.
By most #1 place in Vegas is the Stratosphere restaurant, where Joe and I got engaged, but it is kinda expensive to get back to the place where we got engaged, so we can't go there on every visit. But if you are looking for the best place in Vegas you need to eat at the rotating roof restaurant at the Stratosphere!

Nap time
This past weekend Joe and I went to Las Vegas for the weekend. More to come about that, but on Saturday we wanted to check on the BYU vs TCU football game (we shouldn't have bothered, the score just made both of us mad) so we went to the part of the casino where you can watch sports and bet on them. We found this gem of a guy who had all his betting sheets in front of him and had his monster energy drink too, he still managed to fall asleep at 3 in the afternoon. He may look dead, but don't worry I used my nursing skills and confirmed that he was still breathing.
PS: I fought off temptation and didn't gamble at all

Another update!
This morning I had an appointment with my cardiologist. I was a bit nervous for this appointment. I have been wearing a heart monitor 24/7 for the past 2 weeks, this lets my doctor know exactly what my heart is doing. When the monitor senses something irregular it beeps and that is suppose to tell me to try to stand as still as possible so it can get a good recording. It would beep all the time but I felt great when it was going off, so I was a bit frustrated.
Today my doctor told me that he has never seen my heart look so good! He said he was excited to hear that I have been able to exercise a little bit again. I told him that my heart monitor would beep at me all the time and he told me that what it was recording was a certain type of a beep in the middle of the heart, I do not remember the official name of the beep...but he said than in an 80 year old it is not good, but in a young athlete it is a great sign. (he called me an athlete! but I guess I am an athlete compared to all the 80 year old people that he treats) I got the go ahead to start decreasing not only 1 of my medications but 2 of them! I was not expecting this! So the plan is that I will meet with him again in 3 months and wear a heart monitor before the appointment so he can check out my heart again. Thanks for your prayers! It will still be a long road ahead, so keep me in your prayers.

My best friends wedding
Celina is one of my favorite people in the world. We first met my sophmore year at BYU when we moved into the same apartment in the Avenues. I remember her calling me before we moved in together to call and see what she might need to bring. She was the most cheerful person to talk to on the phone. Celina is one of the most friendly, happy people I know. Her new husband, Adam makes her happier than I ever thought possible. Seriously she was giggly and smiling like crazy. Here are some pictures that highlight their special day!
Beautiful!
So about the flowers, they were suppose to bloom pink and white flowers but they didn't bloom in time. I still thought it was beautiful, I will have to post a picture of my bouquet once it blooms.

Heart Update
I had a few people let me know that I was overdue to give everyone an update on my heart. If you haven't ever heard the story you can go here and read about how I realized there was a problem.
The latest news is that I am still on all of my medications. In a few weeks I will wear a heart monitor for a week and my doctor will get to see exactly what my heart has been doing and if I don't have any episodes where I go out of rhythm we will start to decrease my medications. I am really hoping this goes well. (last time I failed it, so cross your fingers) The good news is that for the most part I feel great! I have been going to the gym a few times a week and I have been able to run a mile about 3 times a week!!!!!! Yep you read right I have tried running! Granted it is a very slow mile, but it feels good to be back on the treadmill.
I was feeling very confident about my heart and so Joe and I even started an intramural coed basketball team with his brothers and sister Cheri, and another family from Burley. I only played a few minutes before I couldn't breathe, and my heart felt like it was going to jump out of my chest. I don't think more basketball will be in my near future.
I am still not in the clear, so please keep praying for my heart!

Rich RIP
Growing up I must admit that I was in love with boy bands, any boy band would make my heart sing. You might might remember LFO for "Summer Girls" I know you are trying to figure out what song that is, let me help you. "New kids on the block had a bunch of hits Chinese food makes me sick and I think its fly when girls stop by for the summer, the summer. I like girls that wear Abercrombie and Fitch..."

Backpacking Trip
Joe has been swamped with school and he hasn't been able to post some pictures from his backpacking trip, so I am here to help him out.
Before school started Joe went backpacking with his Dad, Sam, John and Cheri to the Sawtooth National Forest in Idaho.
After their backpacking trip they always go eat at the same place in celebration of surviving the wild I suppose.

This is John (aka the Boy) who was the only one who caught a fish

Tim was in charge of cooking and from what I hear he is quite the cook!
I think this picture below is beautiful! i love the reflection in the lake. Joe said the water was clear.

Family reunion
This past week Joe and I headed up to Burley for the Preston family reunion. We both have not been to the Logan temple so on the way to Burley we stopped in Logan to go to the temple. What a beautiful temple it was!
The family reunion started with 9 holes of golf for all those interested. A year ago I would not have been interested, but about a month ago I decided that I wanted to try golf and since Joe is going to be a lawyer in 2 years we figured it would be good to start going on his golf game too. I'm not that good, but it sure is fun!

This picture below was at our last hole. I was tired and instead of getting my pitching wedge out I decided to just use my putter out of laziness, well it paid off because I made it to the hole from this spot. Lucky me!

It was really fun to see family that we don't get to see all the time even though they are just in Salt Lake. The cute girl in the picture below is my sister in-law Cheri who will be a freshman at BYU this fall! I am so excited to have her so close!!!
All of the Preston girls went to this ladies house in Rupert and we learned how to make lotion, we even got to pick what scent we wanted. It was a fun time!

The last day of the family reunion we went on the Snake River and went boating. Look at Joe's amazing biceps! I have not been wakeboarding in almost 3 years, but I got up on the wakeboard the first try.

A day on the Snake river is not complete without a ride on the water weenie.
