Snowboarding in June!!!

So it turns out you can go snowboarding in June in Utah. My friend Kristen had the brilliant idea to try it out. This was the first time I have been in about 2 years (I've been really really really needing to go) There was a handful of people up there, most of them looked like this guy....... There were a lot of people in shorts and t-shirts, we were not so brave and bundled up just in case we fell.
We basically had the mountain to ourselves, I dare you to try and find another person on the mountain in this picture below.

Thanks for the invite Kristen! We should make this a yearly tradition!!!

Pirate Island

So my friend Celina is back from Ethiopia for a few months and for the past 18 months we have talked about how much we wanted to go to Pirate Island and eat Pirate Pizza and watch Pirate movies. Well Monday the day finally came!

These pictures all look like it was fun and games...but it wasn't. They stuck us in the cave area where we couldn't see any pirates, but the worst part about it all was on Tuesday Joe and I both woke up nauseated, and it didn't take long until we realized we had food poisoning. Joe and I have spent the last day with buckets beside us with muscle pains and the inability to keep Gatorade down.

Take it from me...never ever eat here!

So for the first time in almost a year I have actually gone to the gym and worked out! My doctor gave me his approval but I still have to be careful. I wasn't able to run but I could do the elliptical machine and weight lift...but this morning I am really sore all over my body, it feels so good and so bad at the same time.

Joe is just starting his finals and will be done with his first year of Law school!!!!
He got an externship at Novell in Provo for the Summer!!! I am so proud of him for working so hard this first year of school! I love you JOE!!!!

Keeping Busy

So you may wonder what I have been doing with my time when I am not working now that nursing school is over, well here is a little bit of what I've been doing.

When I was going through school I would say to myself, When I am done with school I will take up this new hobby like Sewing, crocheting, reading.
So far out of my hobbies to start I have started 3

Hobby #3-Sewing
I decided I wanted to have cute scrubs so thanks to my mom's help she has taught me how to make adorable scrubs.
Hobby #2- Crocheting
I got called to be the YW camp director and so I have been busy making these headbands for all the girls so that when it gets colder at night we can all match and look cute. So far I have about 22 made.
Hobby #3 Reading
One of the many drawbacks of nursing school is that you never have a chance to read anything you want to. So I have been catching up on my reading. This is my latest book.
Hobby #4 that I want to take up is Cake Decorating. My friends Dareth and Celina took a class once and I was jealous, so when I get a chance I will learn how to decorate beautiful cakes!

Disneyland/Knotts

I went on a really fun last minute trip. My brother and sister in law were taking there kids to Disneyland and then my parents decided they wanted to go, well at the last minute I decided that I wasn't doing anything because my job at the hospital hadn't started yet, and so I went too! My brother Jeff drove over from Arizona, so we had quite the crew. Joe was busy with Law school that week and couldn't miss his classes so he talked me into going.

Here are some of the highlights....
We started out going to Knotts Berry Farm. I haven't been there in years. My oldest nephew, Max is only 4 years old, but he is incredibly tall and can actually ride some of the big kid rides, and he actually loved some of them and went on one roller coaster 6 times. I think he still probably talks about how much fun this ride was on a daily basis.

The next day we went to Disneyland and for the first 2 hours we felt like we had the park to ourselves, but that changed and everyone in California came and the lines were LONG! It was still so fun to be with family and see how much fun Max and Ben were having. Max actually went on the tower of terror, after the ride he said ,"It made my bum bum jump" although he hated Indiana Jones, but he has told me numerous times, "Indiana saved us". I also got to share a bed with him, and one night I woke up to him talking in his sleep and he was saying things about how he wanted to ride more rides. My nephews are probably the cutest boys ever.
