1st Birthday party

We were so happy to be able to celebrate Kate's first birthday at Lagoon! A special thanks to my Dad who was able to reserve us a pavilion and make sure that everyone in the family had tickets to the park. Kate sure does love her Papa. She had a 1st birthday that I'm sure she will never forget, and if she does forget we took lots of pictures to help remind her.
We had lunch at Kate's special pavilion with all the family.
Kate with all her cousins!

1st birthday cake...Moooo!
A special thanks to pinterest who gave me the idea for the cow cake, and
to my mom for sharing her cake decorating talent.
I am so happy with how it turned out, and it was delicious!

My baby is 1!

I have been in a bit of denial that my little baby is already 1 year old! I even decided that if I didn't blog about it that it didn't really happen. But it is true no matter how I try to cope with it. My baby is 1 and growing up too fast. When she was a newborn everyone would tell me to enjoy the time because they grow up so fast. I look at newborns now and wonder how my baby skipped that stage all together, that time really did go fast. Kate has had one busy year of growing.
It is amazing for me as her mother to look back and see the growth in one year.

obviously her 12 month picture, she can't hold still alone long enough to get a good shot

I'm smitten

Kate loves to empty her toys out of the basket, and then climb inside and play with a select few
I have loved every stage of development Kate has gone through. I personally think she just gets to be more fun every day. I am smitten, and I do whatever this little girl wants.

Apparently this is how we look when Joe and I slurp our milk from cereal.

August 2014
Nonna came for a visit and Kate got her first official sewing lesson by a professional

August 2014
Kate decided to take off running while at a Young Women's activity for my church.
She wanted to be just like the big girls and tried to keep up with them.

Licorice can entertain her for a long time.

Summer around the house

Our little girl loves being outside. She loves to look out the window and point and try to convince me to go play, even in the rain. She loved it anytime we would take her out to weed the garden with us. She is really a good rock finder, she will either hold onto the rocks or throw them over her shoulder.

She also loves a good mouthful of dirt when Mom or Dad takes their eye off of her.
Spring time
She looks so little!

Busted eating dirt

We once tried to contain her in her pack and play while we worked, that didn't last long
because she was squawking to play.

Seriously the cutest gardener ever!
I found this cute little play house at a garage sale for $20! Kate loves playing in the sink, and climbing on the chair and table. She loves opening and shutting the front door. She knows it is all hers. Actually it is my little dream house, and I just let her play in it. (Ssshh, don't tell Kate)

Our little dare devil, she will even stand from the table top without any hesitation

Petting Zoo

One of the many reasons why I love living in a smaller town is that our local animal store is unlike any other. They have dogs, cats, birds and all the usual stuff, but they also have goats, pigs, horses, cows, etc. The store advertises the farm animals as a petting zoo, but they are also for sale. Kate and I go weekly.
A wandering Kid

Sheep

Goats, they love to try to kiss her toes, their eyes freak her out

Lots of Kids and their Mamma's from this spring. They had at least 2 dozen babies.

Earlier this spring they had chicks, Kate loved them and would jibber jabber to them.

Kate loved hanging with Aunt Cheri, and Uncle John
Chances are you have never heard of Albion, or Albion days, which is your loss, It's a little town near Declo, Idaho (I'm sure you've never heard of Declo either). This little town puts on a fun parade on July 4th, with lots of candy. I used my daughters cuteness to get lots of candy. But she did get a lot also. It was fun to spend the morning with family, and be entertained by this small town.

The look I would get if I tried to take that sucker away

Kate got to meet her great uncle Fred, and aunt Joyce
